SUMOCHAM Drills

The drill head has ground flutes for smooth, continuous chip flow and a ground gash for improved penetration.

The drill shank design is in accordance to DIN 9766 standard, with obtainable drilling depth to diameter ratios of 1.5XD, 3xD, 5XD and 8xD. All drill bodies showcase coolant through holes. This capacity can speed up countless high-volume operations. The deep-hole drilling station no longer needs to slow down a transfer line or stop it entirely because a drill broke.

Different target applications include deep holes for automotive, hydraulic blocks and die & mold work. A combination of features assist the twist drills to cut faster, straighter,deeper, last longer and evacuate chips more readily. A unique high-strength core creates a more durable drill point and allows for deeper flutes, enlarging the departure path for chips.

The drill tip themselves have a 140 positive-point, four-margin design to preserve the edge, decrease thrust forces and aide centering and tracking. A post-coat polishing method on the flutes, margins and cutting edges decreases friction and torque that can readily snap a drill.
