A Teen Talks To Her Drinking Friends To Uncover More Information About Alcohol Addiction And Alcohol Abuse

Heather drank a lot with her buddies. One Monday after all her classes were completed, she began reflecting on the amount of alcohol she ingested on a regular basis and the careless and irresponsible drinking of her buddies. As a consequence of this, she asked all of her buddies the following question: "what do we really know about binge drinking, alcohol abuse, alcohol poisoning, and alcoholism? Stated differently, how much alcohol dependency and alcohol abuse information do we honestly know? For our young age, we clearly drink in an excessive and abusive manner and I am starting to wonder if all of us are headed for a life filled with alcohol-associated problems when we become older.

I believe we should go online and find out all that is possible about binge drinking, alcoholism, alcohol abuse, and alcohol poisoning. And then if we have any relevant questions that we do not comprehend after we do our online research, we can go to the student health center at the college and ask Nurse Sesny to help us understand what we cannot comprehend.

It should not come as a huge surprise that what Heather mentioned would instigate a heated discussion. For instance, her best friend since the second grade, Lisa, stated that they are too young and too healthy to be worried about irresponsible and abusive drinking. Another drinking friend named Trevor stated that since most high school students drink there is no logical reason why they should be any different. Another friend named Ana stated that all she wants to do is to have fun drinking with her buddies. And still another classmate named Nickolas in point of fact agreed with Heather primarily because both of his parents abused alcohol and both of his parents had a history of alcohol related difficulties.

Heather told her pals that she understood everything that they had said but that engaging in abusive and unhealthy drinking at such a susceptible age in all honesty cannot be very healthy or something that contributes toward establishing a worthwhile life. When two or three of her drinking pals asked what kind of alcohol difficulties Heather was discussing, Heather mentioned the following: alcohol-related diseases such as heart disease, cirrhosis of the liver, and cancer and other alcohol-related problems like alcohol-related traffic accidents and fatalities, alcohol poisoning (which can be fatal in some instances), and alcoholism.

When Heather then mentioned that careless and excessive drinking often results in financial, relationship, school, and legal problems, some of her drinking pals finally began to understand how wide-ranging and how devastating irresponsible drinking can be. To be sure some of her friends became more open and began talking about how these alcohol addiction and alcohol abuse effects had adversely affected their parents and some of their friends.

After emphasizing some of the alcohol dependency and alcohol abuse problems that are related to abusive and irresponsible drinking, the vast majority of her friends seemed to like the idea about getting information on the Internet. They were, however, apprehensive about discussing their drinking situations with the administrators at school. As Heather thought about this she told herself, "at least they are somewhat excited about leaning more about their abusive and irresponsible drinking. This is a very fine start."
