A Health Instructor Motivates His Students To Learn About Alcoholic Symptoms, Signs Of Alcoholism, And Symptoms Of Alcoholism
Mr. Johnson was one of the health teachers at a medium size country high school in the Eastern part of the U.S. For "Alcohol Attentiveness Month" he arrived at a decision that he would highlight the following three topics for a class assignment: the symptoms of alcoholism, the signs of alcoholism, and alcoholic symptoms.
After Mr. Johnson finished the topics that would be allotted to his pupils, he determined that he would present their assignment the following Wednesday morning. When "assignment day" finally arrived, Mr. Johnson met with his class, distributed some important facts and information, and then notified the pupils in his class about the topics he selected.
He then gave the members of his class an outline of some important signs of alcoholism and emphasized how critical it is to figure out how to correlate these facts, symptoms, and statistics with the day-to-day situations of alcohol dependent individuals. He then gave the members of his class a concise explanation about the importance of learning more about alcohol addicted people and how they perform their activities on an everyday basis.
Mr. Johnson informed his class that they could center their attention on one of the three topics or talk about all three topics and how they are interconnected. In short this would be similar to a basic abstract but done in a more comprehensive way.
Another selection that he presented to the members of his class was the following: choose a topic such as alcohol dependency signs and symptoms, look into things in a more far-reaching manner, and then discuss two or three signs and symptoms. Mr. Johnson then mentioned that the same rationale applies to the other two topics, namely, the symptoms of alcoholism and alcoholic symptoms.
The end result of their research would be a three thousand word research paper and then a twenty-five minute oral presentation that would be given in front of all the members of the class. As recognition for their excellent scholarly achievement, the students with the top two overall grades on the research paper and on the presentation will be asked to present the end product their research at the district drug and alcohol addiction conference at the end of February.
As affirmed by Mr. Johnson, because there are more than a few alcohol addiction symptoms and signs to choose from, he brought up the fact that he was not very worried about different students opting for the same signs and symptoms for their class assignment. Without a doubt, even if more than one student was to decide upon identical symptoms and signs, the examples that are associated with each symptom or sign would unquestionably add enough multiplicity to steer clear of two or more pupils presenting exactly the same content.
Mr. Johnson then mentioned that while there are many alcohol dependency signs and symptoms that could be chosen, the quantity of alcohol dependency statistics and facts that could be listed were practically limitless. When the topic of alcoholic symptoms was added to the discussion, additionally, the pupils realized somewhat promptly that the three topics would make available a considerable amount of information from which to choose.
Why did Mr. Johnson pick the symptoms of alcoholism, the signs of alcoholism, and alcoholic symptoms as the topics for this project? Mr. Johnson thought that by raising the awareness of his students about the destructive consequences of alcohol dependency and the disappointing lifestyles experienced by alcohol dependent individuals, his students might think twice before they involved themselves in abusive and careless drinking behavior.
